Leané & Vincent - Fort Simon - 27 June 2015
"Both of us loves to entertain and spend time with our friends. The wedding was a true reflection of the close relationships we have with the people around us, and how we normally would spend our free time. A fireplace, the live band, good food and wine and great company- it was perfect..."
How did you choose your dress and what
did it look like? "I knew from the start which design I wanted, but struggled to
find the perfect fit. One of my bridesmaids, Liezl, referred me to Antoinette
who helped me to design and make the dress exactly how I wanted it. White lace
with delicate crystal beading and a low back- it was beautiful!"
Your story: "We met through
mutual friends, who eventually made it their mission to play cupid!"
Something old, something new, something
borrowed, something blue? : "This specific tradition wasn’t that important to
me, however I managed to adhere to it. Something old was my pair of shoes,
Something new was my wedding dress, Something borrowed was my veil, and
Something blue was my garter."
How did he propose? "It was my birthday
and we decided to take his bike to go for lunch in Hout Bay. On route we made a
stop at one of the lookout points on Chapmans Peak, where Vince surprised me by
dropping to one knee and proposing."
Did anything unexpected happen on your
wedding day? "The audio message from Steve Hofmeyr was definitely unexpected!"
Your favourite moment of the wedding: "The moment when I locked eyes with Vince for the first time while walking down
the aisle in Church, it was very special. And of course the live band, with
Wicus jumping in behind the mike!"
Describe your wedding in 10 words: "Perfect, fun, heart-warming, idyllic,
picturesque and special evening filled with love!"
Any hints for other brides on how to
keep your wedding budget friendly? "Keep it plain and simple, and focus on what
matters! People barely notices the nitty gritty details, and would not miss it
if it’s not there. Don’t try to outshine other people or weddings, stick to
your gut feeling and do what you want to do."
